After the group stage, all 12 third-place finishers are ranked together by points, then goal difference, then goals scored. The top 8 advance to the Round of 32 — finishing best among 3rd-place teams does not earn a better slot or path, it just confirms qualification.
Which specific R32 match they play in is determined by a FIFA bracket table based on which 8 groups produced the qualifying teams — not by how they ranked among 3rd-place finishers. That means the exact city and match number can't be known until all group stage matches are complete.
The scenarios below show every possible R32 slot for Brazil if they qualify as a 3rd-place team. Once the group stage ends, exactly one of these will apply.
